This pork chop recipe is so easy, simple, and quick, you will be eating them in no time. The aroma of these tender pork chops cooking on your stovetop is absolutely heavenly! For those summer months you want to avoid using the oven, heres a wonderful solution (but once you try them, you wont want to limit them to the summer!)

Beer is a well-known meat tenderizer. It has properties which break down the fiber in the meat, resulting in a juicy, tender pork chop. Although the alcohol evaporates during the cooking process, it leaves a delicious and unique taste. It doesnt matter if you use expensive beer or cheap beer; the result will be the same. If youre a beer drinker, its better to use the brand you prefer (then you can enjoy one while youre cooking!)

The recipe below is written for thinner, boneless pork chops. If cooking thicker chops, increase the browning time and the cooking time by a few minutes.

Easy Pork Chops Cooked in Beer

Ingredients for Easy Pork Chops:

1 2 tablespoons oil (olive or vegetable are perfect)
4 pork chops
Salt
Pepper
1 (12-ounce) can or bottle of beer
Garlic powder
1 large onion, thinly sliced

Directions for making Easy Pork Chops:

Heat the oil in a skillet large enough to comfortably cook the chops in a single layer without crowding.

Sprinkle both sides of each pork chop evenly with salt and pepper. Place the pork chops in the heated oil and brown on both sides for 3 5 minutes each (depending on the thickness of the chop).

Pour the beer into the skillet, sprinkle each pork chop with garlic powder to your particular taste and distribute the onion slices on the top of the chops.

Bring the beer to a boil, then lower the heat to simmer and cook, uncovered, until the pork chops are no longer pink in the middle and the sauce has reduced about 25 30 minutes (or a little more for thicker chops).
